The LSU Athletics Operations Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant. This role is integral to delivering first-class event and facility operations within one of the nation’s premier athletic programs. Graduate Assistants gain hands-on experience in managing high-profile events including football game days, championships, and special events, while developing skills in leadership, event coordination, and operational execution. Graduate Assistants are expected to embody and uphold LSU Athletics Core Values, including integrity, excellence, respect, and growth. This is a two-year commitment from July 2026 – June 2028 which includes nights, weekends and holidays.

Other Roles & Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Lead and support guest services and event staffing operations at assigned events, including managing staff assignments, troubleshooting in real time, and ensuring a high-level fan experience.
Contribute to the necessary work involved in the care, preventative maintenance, repair, improvements, renovations and operation of playing fields, multi-purpose buildings, arenas, stadiums, and other athletic areas.
Collaborate with LSU Athletics departments, coaches, officials, and visiting teams to ensure event quality and guest satisfaction.
Assist with pre-event planning, event-day execution, and post-event evaluations across LSU Athletics events, including football, championships, and large-scale special events.
Gain experience working with industry-standard software and technology such as EMS Scheduling Software, ISS 24/7, and other systems to support effective event and facility management.
Lead, supervise, and mentor approximately 5 interns and 15–20 student staff, including training, performance oversight, and day-to-day direction, while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous development.
Assist with gameday parking operations by supervising lot attendants, ensuring equipment and signage are properly set up and operational, managing ingress and egress, and addressing any parking-related issues to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all guests.
Compensation: Paid tuition $2,000/semester while enrolled Will not be able to work any other on-campus paid position Paid hours are available if not enrolled in classes, with the expectation of working up to 40 hours per week during summer, winter and spring break Hands-on experience at one of the premier game day environments in the country Direct mentorship from full-time event management staff with extensive experience in collegiate athletics and major event operations Apparel, event parking, staff meals and professional development opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
Accepted to or enrolled in the LSU Sport Management Master's program or other related graduate program such as Business Administration, Event Management, or Hospitality Management
?Available to work 25 hours per week including nights, weekends, holidays and summer sessions
Possess strong organizational and communication skills
Possess knowledge and ability to adhere to policies and procedures of Louisiana State University, LSU Athletics, the SEC and the NCAA
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with LSU Athletics, an NCAA Division I athletics department, conference championships, and/or NCAA postseason events
Technical experience with EMS Scheduling Software, Perry Weather, ISS 24/7 Incident Management System, Precision Time Systems, DVSport, and/or HawkEye
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
Demonstrated ability to communicate with coaches, staff and external constituents
Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays is required
Must be able to walk up and down stairs and stand in one place for long periods of time in variable weather conditions
