McKinley Orthopedic is currently looking to add an Athletic Trainer to our team to support the University of Alaska Fairbanks!
Assistant Athletic Training (UAF) Job duties: This role involves providing athletic training services to student-athletes (65% of the role), including injury evaluation, treatment planning, practice and event coverage, and travel to away games. The remaining 35% of the position consists of administrative duties such as documentation, insurance upkeep, inventory management, and scheduling.
The UAF Athletic Department is a tight-knit team that collaborates to support both its members and student-athletes. The Athletic Training Department operates with the following mission and seeks a candidate whose personality aligns with its dedicated team.
Our mission is to promote the physical and mental well-being of all UAF student-athletes by focusing on the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries. When necessary, we ensure injured Nanook athletes are referred to the appropriate medical providers for further care.
To excel as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, the ideal candidate must be a hardworking, self-motivated individual. They should be comfortable working both in Fairbanks and traveling with the team for extended periods. The role requires the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues when needed.
