Purpose The Director of Advertising & Digital Engagement will be responsible for several important digital marketing initiatives including advertising campaigns, analytics/reporting, mobile messaging, email marketing, website and more.
Responsibilities Oversee the marketing department’s advertising campaigns and promotional material including Digital, Radio, TV, and Print. Create, oversee, and monitor processes and procedures for the implementation of an effective advertising media mix to reach desired targeted audiences. Manage advertising budget. Work collaboratively to plan, develop, and execute data-driven strategic advertising campaigns to reach targeted audiences through internal and external media platforms for products, promotions, initiatives, as well as community development, digital programming, and other messaging priorities to achieve department goals of engaging fans, driving revenue, and strengthening our brand. Content includes, but is not limited to, marketing and sales collateral, letters, web stories, email messaging, advertising, social media posts, etc. Oversee Advertising, Email Marketing and Web staff and ensure all messages and content are accurate, timely and on-brand. Develop, mentor, and grow staff to reach departmental, personal, and professional goals. Collaborate in providing support coverage to Advertising, Website, and Email Marketing projects. Oversee and manage relationship with marketing rights holder, web provider, marketing automation, app developer, and other technologies and tools related to content delivery to integrate, understand and maximize the use of every tool. Provide strategic media planning support, evaluation, and reconciliation of advertising campaigns to ensure all media is placed and running as planned. Analyze the performance of digital marketing channels via various analytics platforms. Develop reporting documents for digital marketing efforts and measure performance and results of campaigns to provide analysis for the entire department. Manage advertising budget, as well as review and track all advertising related expenses. Manage the distribution and collection of digital fan surveys. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Web or another related field. Three or more years of relevant experience including Marketing, Advertising, Web and Project Management. Understanding of advertising strategy and best practices. Understanding of email marketing strategy and best practices. Understanding of website strategy and best practices. Outstanding writing, presentation, and communication skills. Strong ability to think strategically and creatively. The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment helping bring structure and delivering results. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years of relevant experience including Marketing, Advertising, Web and Project Management. Experience in College Athletics or Professional Sports. Working knowledge and experience with Oracle Eloqua. Working knowledge and experience with SideArm. Working knowledge and experience with analytics and reporting tools. Supervisory experience.
