Troy University is seeking applicants for potentially two Assistant Softball Coaching positions. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Coach by providing leadership for the Softball Program and assure the program complies with the overall objectives of the institution and the department. They will also ensure the program adheres to all applicable NCAA, conference and institutional rules and regulations.
Specific Responsibilities: •Conduct the softball program so that each student-athlete is an integral part of the student body and her experience in athletics enhances their educational experience. *One position should have expertise and strong knowledge in catching, hitting and/or defense. *One position should have expertise and strong knowledge in all aspects of pitching. •Maintain conduct, appearance, and discipline of team members appropriate for intercollegiate athletics teams which will positively reflect the image of the department and the University. •Oversee the teams academics, compliance and recruiting efforts •Assist the Head Coach in organizing and implement all practice sessions and game preparations. •Demonstrate good sportsmanship and the highest level of personal integrity. •Manifest a firm commitment to the academic mission of the University and to the educational advancement of the student-athlete. •Be committed to the compliance process and assist with rules-education. •Act as an ambassador of Troy University and its Athletics Department to all public entities.
Qualifications •2 years of experience coaching and/or playing collegiate softball •Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations •Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game of softball •Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment, academic eligibility requirements, and retention of student-athletes •Knowledge of athletics recruitment methods and techniques |
