Job Title:Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Mount Saint Mary College (NY), a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Skyline Conference is accepting applications for the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach position. The Head Coach will be responsible for directing all aspects of the program including: the recruitment of qualified student-athletes consistent with the competitive requirements of a DIII program and the academic standards of the College; conducting and supervising practices; and the preparation and implementation of game strategies. Additional responsibilities include: scheduling, budget oversight, supervision of assistant coaches & staff; participation in fundraising, admissions events, community service initiatives, and game day management during the off-season. The Head Coach must be committed to NCAA & College rules compliance. Other duties include serving on institutional and Skyline Conference committees and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1.Organizing and directing all aspects of the men’s lacrosse program
2.Recruiting and selecting qualified student-athletes while adhering to the recruiting expectations.
3.Retaining student-athletes with a commitment to high academic achievement, progress and graduation.
4.Compliance with the NCAA, Skyline Conference, and college rules and regulations.
5.Upholding the mission of Mount Saint Mary College and the Athletic Department.
6.Work closely with the Director of Athletics to develop a competitive and complete lacrosse schedule within the guidelines of NCAA and the Skyline Conference legislation
7.Working to develop a successful men’s lacrosse program through proper game day preparation, practice planning, further developing the skills of the student-athletes, fundraising, and community service.
8.Coordinate and schedule all practices, team meetings, daily communications, team scouting etc.
9.Work closely with the Director of Athletics and staff in the purchasing, managing and accounting for all lacrosse supplies consistent with institutional purchasing procedures
10.Work closely with the Athletic Department to assist in the implementation and management of its summer camps and clinics program
11.Represent the college at athletic meetings pertaining to the men’s lacrosse program. This includes Skyline Conference meetings, NCAA meetings, and meetings with other conference member institutions
12.Hiring and supervising assistant coaches.
13.Building Management as needed
14.Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics in accordance with the Department of Athletics, the Skyline Conference, the NCAA and other related associations and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years of coaching and recruitment experience in college setting preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism and leadership, with a high standard of personal conduct and integrity.
- Ability to work independently.
