Under the direct supervision of the Head Track & Field Coach, the Coordinator of Men’s and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Operations provides administrative support to the Men’s and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all administrative functions of the Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country programs.
- Responsible for all aspects of team travel; including flight, bus, hotel, meals, transportation, practice facilities, per diem expenditures, etc.
- Acts as liaison between Men's & Women's Track & Field/Cross Country and Athletic Administrative areas.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and project a professional attitude. Knowledge of NCAA policies and procedures. Knowledge of NCAA Division I men's and women's track and field/cross country operations. Knowledge of MAC and/or PC computer operations and Excel, Word and PowerPoint software. Ability to exercise mature judgment and discretion under intense pressure and short time-lines.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
- CA Driver's License required.
- Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the sports of track & field/cross country and familiar with all aspects of administering a track & field program preferred. Previous collegiate cross country experience preferred.
- Division I track and cross country experience preferred.
