West Virginia Wesleyan College is seeking qualified applicants for the full time position of Sports Information Director. The candidate will oversee the day-to-day coverage of all 22 intercollegiate sports at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Primary responsibilities include maintaining, updating and editing athletic department web site; managing the athletic department’s social media presence; develop and maintain appropriate and positive professional media relationships; writing and editing press releases and feature stories; creation and editing of athletic and selected college publications; compiling statistics and filing regular reports for all sports as required by the NCAA and the Mountain East Conference; assistance with game day and press box operations; work with the Director of Marketing and Communication when needed and necessary on assigned tasks; other tasks as assigned. Ability to work nights and weekends required and some travel to specified events will be expected.

Required minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, journalism or related field.
One to two years of successful experience, preferably in a college sports information office.
Strong communication skills including both written and verbal.
Familiarity with appropriate sports information software (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, website content management system).
Successful completion of a background check in accordance with West Virginia Wesleyan College policy
Statistical experience in football required.
