Compensation: $270 per MCCAA team (18 teams = $4,860 annually).

The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), serving 24 member community colleges across Michigan, is seeking an experienced and highly professional Baseball Assignor. This Independent Contractor is responsible for assigning qualified baseball officials for MCCAA contests, ensuring consistent application of rules, and supporting the overall quality and integrity of officiating within the conference.
Key Responsibilities
Assign trained and qualified baseball officials to MCCAA baseball contests. Ensure all officials meet MCCAA and NJCAA standards of professionalism, conduct, and performance. Maintain documentation verifying officials’ formal training and readiness. Recruit, develop, and retain officials—with particular emphasis on geographic areas near MCCAA member institutions. Oversee the professionalism of officials, including communication, demeanor, punctuality, and appropriate social media presence. Ensure officials comply with MCCAA reporting procedures, including ejection reports. Maintain accurate assignment records and communicate effectively with MCCAA leadership and institutions. Adhere to MCCAA Constitution, By-Laws, sport regulations, and Independent Contractor requirements.
Required
Extensive experience as a baseball official, assignor, supervisor, or coordinator.
Strong knowledge of baseball rules, officiating mechanics, and NJCAA standards.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate, train, and mentor officials.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to independently manage assignments across multiple institutions.
