The Assistant Men's Golf Coach assists with all aspects of the men's golf program to include: coaching during competitions and practices, recruitment of student-athletes, academics, NCAA compliance, strength and conditioning and administrative responsibilities.
40% Manages the Bilyeu golf practice facility building. Responsibilities will include being in the office throughout the work day. Keeping the facility tidy and organized to a high standard. Making sure hydration and nutrition stations are stocked. Communicating with golf course maintenance, coaches and facilities regarding building needs.
30% Trains, coaches, and provides leadership for men's golf student-athletes.
10% Identifies and recruits prospective men's golf student-athletes adhering to all NCAA, SEC and institutional policies.
10% Help manage and run alumni and donor golf days for both men's and women's golf programs. Will be responsible for the communication and organization of the events.
5% Participate in public relations activities by representing the Department of Athletics at alumni meetings, civic clubs, etc.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with prior coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate or professional level; Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience coaching a collegiate golf team at the Division I level.
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Travel is required. Due to the nature of the job duties, pre-employment physical is required.
