Directly responsible for the overall direction of the football program. Involving recruiting, retaining members, assembling/developing a competent assistant coaching staff, and overall in-season/off-season strategies/programs.
The Head Football Coach will also serve in a second college assignment of one of the following: Athletic Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Student Development Assistant, or Intermural and Student Life and Activities Coordinator. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Head Coach being employed in both assigned positions.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Constant (67-100%)
Formulate a successful philosophy to promote the educational welfare and sportsmanship of the student athlete.
Manage and direct the football program.
Manages all aspects of the team including strength and conditioning, practicing, competing and scheduling.
Evaluate and recruit qualified students.
Direct and supervise the assistant football coaches.
Responsible for football student athlete retention and roster management.
Responsible for marketing the football program.
Develop and adhere to the budget set forth for the program.
Responsible for ordering of supplies, equipment and uniform purchases.
Arrange travel for the team’s scrimmages and competitions during the season.
Coordinate fundraising activities to help with the costs of additional items needed for the program.
Responsible for advising and keeping close watch on the students/athletes academic progress.
Responsible for setting the code of conduct for each student/athlete, and handle discipline accordingly for breaking of the rules set forth.
Frequent (34-66%)
Commit to and responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the department, the College, NJCAA and ICCAC with the utmost integrity.
Travel outside Area V recruitment areas. Communicate with prospective or current students via text, email or weekly phone calls.
Occasional (10-33%)
Serve on College committees.
Participate in clinics, conferences, and staff development for professional growth.
Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of communications within the college and the community.
Give tours of campus to prospective students.
Assist in special enrollment days, senior days, and campus activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

9. Effectively develop a relationship with the State of Iowa Football coaches to enhance our Iowa recruitment efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. College playing experience preferred, coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Preference of a current Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season and maintain throughout duration of employment.
GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION: Position involves constant (67-100%) sitting, talking or listening to persons over the telephone and in person, traveling for long periods of time; frequent (34-66%) standing, walking, talking, jogging, visual activity and repetitive motion, use of computer equipment; and occasional (10-33%) assembling equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and carrying/lifting up to 25 pounds.
