Assistant coach for the varsity women’s softball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Coaching (45%) Train varsity women’s softball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level. Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans. Maintain and increase knowledge of softball training and coaching techniques. Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.
Recruiting (25%) Evaluate prospective student-athletes. Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes. Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.
Academics (15%) Monitor academic performance of student-athletes. Counsel student-athletes. Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.
Scheduling (15%) Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines. Assist head coach with planning and coordinating team travel and lodging. Tentative Search Timeline

Qualifications
To be considered for this role you must have knowledge of softball training and coaching techniques. This position will need to understand, or have the ability to learn, the NCAA forms and compliance requirements.
A Bachelor’s degree is required, as well as coaching experience at the college or high school level. Experience at the Division II level is highly desirable.
Candidates must demonstrate experience working with diverse populations in a multi-cultural environment that is committed to diversity and equality in education.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills are valuable in this role.
