The Assistant Athletic Director is a strategic position that will serve as a senior member of the athletic administrative team. The incumbent will focus on athletic compliance and the planning and development of future athletic initiatives, and they will also serve as the college’s point-person for helping student-athletes understand and meet expectations for the NAIA and the Heart of America conference. This individual will work closely with the Associate Athletic Director to lead a comprehensive NAIA compliance program which includes, but is not limited to, managing advising services to student-athletes; eligibility; playing and practice seasons; financial aid; enforcement; Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) policies; and all required reporting documents for the Department of Athletics. The Assistant Athletic Director will encourage a culture of compliance through education, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures. Frequent evening and weekend work and some travel is required. In addition to these duties this position will assist with a variety of department and gameday operations. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA overtime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required; preferred experience working with NAIA compliance legislation and a master’s degree. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detail oriented and have ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Previous effective supervisory experience is also required. A valid driver’s license is required.
