Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Graduate Assistant is responsible for supporting the student athletes in athletic training for our 24 intercollegiate athletics teams.
•Assist Head Athletic Trainer to deliver care to student athletes. Assist the head athletic trainer with the daily, seasonal, and yearly organization and administration of the training room. oImplement emergency medical procedures oImplement treatment plans for the care and rehabilitation of injuries of student athletes oAssist with the daily prep for practices and competitions (home and away) for assigned teams. oPerform other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer and department •Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and conduct appropriate of the sports medicine field adhering to all professional association guidelines. •Adhere to the policies of McDaniel College and the Department of Athletics. •Adhere to all NCAA, Centennial Conference, ECAC rules and regulations including HIPAA and FERPA.
Bachelor’s degree with experience at the intercollegiate level preferred.
Must possess and maintain current NATA Certification
Must obtain and maintain current Maryland Board of Physicians Licensure for Athletic Trainers
Previous experience in a sports medicine collegiate athletics environment and/or athletic training in a clinical setting required.
Officially accepted into a graduate program at McDaniel College.
