You will also collaborate closely with athletic trainers and departmental staff, including equipment, sports information, and facilities personnel.

In this role, you will lead all aspects of recruiting by identifying, evaluating, and managing prospective student-athletes through a comprehensive, year-round recruitment strategy. This includes conducting official and unofficial visits; evaluating high school, club, and collegiate programs domestically and internationally; and finalizing athlete selections aligned with program goals and institutional values.

As an integral contributor to student success, you will support student-athletes&#8217; academic achievement, facilitate connections with campus and departmental resources, and serve as a departmental spokesperson while providing leadership within the local community and beyond. You will also oversee team scheduling, logistics, and extensive travel planning, including transportation of student-athletes and equipment.

You will manage the program&#8217;s budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility while making purchasing recommendations to the Athletic Director. Through consistent communication and engagement, you will cultivate relationships with alumni and supporters and collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement to support fundraising efforts. As Head Women&#8217;s Basketball Coach, you will model exemplary sportsmanship, professionalism, and ethical conduct in alignment with the mission and values of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor&#8217;s degree in a sports related field and two to three years playing and/or coaching experience or a bachelor&#8217;s degree in a non-sports related field and four to five years playing and/or coaching experience. Qualified candidates will also have a valid driver&#8217;s license with an acceptable MVR (motor vehicle report).

Assists in the attraction and retention of student-athletes while promoting a diverse campus environment. Evaluate talent and communicate with high school coaches and prospective student-athletes on the benefits of Otterbein University, while monitoring their progress through the admission process.



Assist with the supervision and coordination of strength and conditioning programs as directed by the head coach. Participates in the planning and monitoring of such activities, including equipment and facility supervision. 



Must be able to transport teams via van if necessary. Online testing required through institution.



Responsible for working with the athletic trainers and team physicians for the medical well-being and protection of the student-athlete during preseason, regular season and post season activities; each athlete must receive a medical evaluation prior to participation; athletic training hours will be posted for preventative care and rehabilitation; emergency procedures must be reviewed, established and followed for practice and competition.



Responsible for the personal conduct of self as well as student-athletes and any others associated with the program. Must be familiar with the Otterbein University Student Code of Conduct and the Student Athlete Handbook and manage to the standards of good conduct and image that will reflect positively on the sport program, the Athletics department and Otterbein University. In addition, the promotion of a diverse and inclusive culture throughout the team, Athletics program, and University is essential.

Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Head Women&#8217;s Basketball coach and Associate Athletic Director, the assistant coach is responsible for assisting with coaching and instruction duties related to the assigned sport at Concordia University, Nebraska (CUNE). They will assist with all aspects of the program and department while abiding by the rules and regulations established by CUNE, the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and the NAIA. This position also supports the Athletic Department with laundry services management and oversight.
 
This is a full-time position with a full benefits package.  Must be 19 years or older to apply.
 
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:  
Assists the Head Coach (HC) in organizing, preparing, instructing, and conducting individual and team practices, training and competition, using sound principles and judgement consistent with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the CUNE Athletic Department.
Assists in coaching all sport practices throughout the season, as well as administering and readily providing attendance records at all practices.
Help with identifying potential student athletes for the women&#39;s basketball program, in accordance with CUNE, GPAC, and NAIA regulations, guidelines, and policies.
Recruits prospective student-athletes who adhere to the NAIA Champions of Character initiatives and who strive for academic achievement, competitive greatness, and spiritual/character development.
Adheres to and supports the HC in monitoring and reinforcing all institutional, conference, and NAIA by-laws and regulations.
Actively participates in implementing and/or designing a retention plan as determined by the HC of the respective athletic program.
Assists with team scheduling, team travel arrangements, evaluating talent of prospective, and returning student-athletes, promoting and marketing the assigned athletic program, scouting opponents and fundraising, upon direction of the HC.
Fosters, assists, and leads interactions that inspire spiritual and character development through one-on-one student and staff relations and that build a cohesive and positive team culture here at CUNE.
Other duties as assigned.
 
Laundry Services Coordinator:
Hires, trains and provides oversight of laundry room student workers for PE and Walz Complex.
Develops and implements procedures and policies regarding uniform check-out and check-in for all programs year round.
Develops and maintains the laundry schedule for weight room towels and all athletic uniforms on a daily basis or as needed, to ensure that practice and performance uniforms are laundered, dried and available for all teams per contracted months.
Prepares for storage and properly stores all uniforms during the off-season.
Responsible for laundry room budget oversight.
Responsible for ordering supplies for the laundry room.
Attends all Game/Facilities and Athletic Department meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education-
Bachelor&#39;s degree required.
Experience-
3-5 years of experience directly related to the essential functions.
2-5 years of experience as a head coach or assistant coach in Higher Ed or high school coach is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide wining results.
Certifications-
Valid driver&#39;s license.
National Coaches License preferred.
Specialized Knowledge-
Knowledge of Concordia University, Nebraska catalogue requirements for graduation.
Knowledge of student retention issues.

 Establish and maintain recruiting data base utilizing athletic department recruiting software.

 Utilize social media platforms in recruitment efforts consistent with NCAA DIII rules.
 Work closely with Admissions and other campus offices to recruit outstanding student-athletes.
 Plan and coordinate prospective student-athlete visits to campus and off campus contacts with prospective student-athletes. 
 Attend tournaments, showcases, observe team camps, visit high schools, attend practices and/or games of recruits on a regular basis. 

 Office Responsibilities 
  
 Hire, train, and supervise a full-time assistant coach
 Support, monitor and track academic success and personal growth of each student-athlete for the purposes that include retention and completion.
 Help orient student-athletes to the policies and regulations of the College, the HCAC and the NCAA
 Oversee the conduct and discipline of student-athletes.
 Prepare team competition and practice schedules guided by the athletic department Scheduling and Principles document that meet NCAA, conference, and Earlham regulations.
 Prepare and operate a fiscally sound program with an annual balanced budget.
 Inventory, purchase, and maintain equipment and uniforms.
 Work with the office if Athletic Communications to aid in the promotion of the team and Earlham College.
 Utilize social media platforms to promote and generate interest in the men&#39;s basketball program, athletic department and Earlham College.
 Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
 Coordinate bus and van schedules, pre and post-game meals, lodging and overnight accommodations.
 Be a presence in the office and available to assist player needs. 

 Practice/Player Development &#38; Game Day Responsibilities 
 
 Develop a competitive program consistent with the athletic department vision.
 Effectively teach individual skills, team concepts, and competitive values.
 Prepare and execute practice and game plans.
 Breakdown drills providing individual player attention and training.
 Assist in overseeing weight training and individual work outs in season.
 Assist in designing off-season workouts for player improvement.
 Prepare game plans and scout future opponents.
 Perform post game duties including, but not limited to, arranging team meal(s), securing statistics and contacting the sports information office.
 

 Other 
 
 Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and mature conduct as the head coach of the program.
 Positively represent Earlham to all on and off campus constituency groups, as well as in conference, regional, and national coaching associations. 
 Develop annual fundraising and alumni outreach plan collaborating with the Director of Athletics and Institutional Advancement. 
 Be an active member of the athletic department and administrative faculty member of Earlham College by attending staff meetings, other athletic department activities, including supporting other athletic programs and being responsive to the needs of departmental support staff (administrative leadership, support staff, athletic trainer(s), etc.); and the institution (i.e. institutional committees, admissions events, faculty meetings).
  Assist athletic department as needed, including but not limited to, game management duties and supervision. 
 Attain van certification through Earlham&#8217;s Public Safety Office to assist with van transportation of student-athletes.
 Understand and support the basic mission of the College. 
 Teach courses (4 half-semester courses per year) in the Athletics, Wellness, and Physical Education (AWPE) curriculum.
 Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
 Additional duties as needed to support Earlham College.

 Bachelor&#8217;s Degree is required, Master&#8217;s preferred. 
 Previous collegiate coaching experience (3-5 years) is preferred.

As the softball and baseball director, you oversee two-three staff members, while also teaching our campers baseball lessons throughout the day. The instructors will teach 6 - 50 minute classes daily, teaching many different skills, drills, games, and more. The role of the baseball director is to help institute lesson plans, keep up the maintenance on the fields, umpire games, help run baseball tournaments, and just get involved in camp life.

*We are also looking for a baseball instructor (ex high school or college player) to instruct daily and be a bunk counselor. Other sports counselor also possibly available.

The Assistant Women&#8217;s Basketball Coach demonstrates extensive knowledge of basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies, and possesses knowledge of NCAA compliance rules. The incumbent must have the ability to identify, recruit, and retain competitive student-athletes and cultivate positive relationships with athletes, alumni, parents, and donors. The position frequently requires prolonged periods of moving around gymnasiums and campus facilities and frequently requires after-hours work and travel.

 Plan and supervise all team travel and meals. 
 Work collaboratively with athletic communications personnel, departmental support staff and sports medicine team.

Primary Duties

Head Coaching Responsibilities:

Program Leadership

Provides leadership and supervision in all aspects of the program including, recruitment, retention, budget, academic support, compliance, practice preparation, game strategy, alumni development, fundraising and student-athlete experience
Develop and maintain a program of excellence and integrity that is competitive, wins championships and leads to success in both regular and post-season play
Implement and execute structured and organized practice sessions
Develop practice schedules, teach fundamental skills and properly train and condition student-athletes in preparation for competition
Develop, organize, and coordinate fundraising initiatives and summer camps/clinics to enhance the program&#8217;s brand and financial sustainability
Coordinate annual events, in-game recognition, etc. to enhance alumni engagement and stewardship

Essential Functions

Recruits&#8217; student athletes by identifying prospects, targeting recruits, and executing the recruiting process from start to finish. This includes extensive travel around Kansas and the United States to identify potential prospects and begin the recruiting process. Also develop strategies for the retention of current student-athletes.

To develop philosophy for all facets of the major sport to be carried into practice and games. Analyze team and player performance, instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition

To plan, schedule, and coordinate practices, games, personal and team travel in compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

To monitor and develop program and scholarship budgets.

Mentor and advises student-athletes in academics, discipline, and personal matters. This includes monitoring academic progress and the eligibility status of all WBB student-athletes while ensuring quality progress towards graduation.
 

Qualifications

A Bachelor&#8217;s degree required. Two to five years of experience of head coaching at a collegiate level or a combination of similar experience such as assistant coaching, professional playing, recruiting or teaching sports classes.

Must have a positive coaching philosophy and excellent communication and organizational skills. Familiar with NCAA, KJCCA, and NJCAA rules and policies.

Coach specific units as directed by the Head Coach.
May serve in a coordinator role.

Teaching
Teach advanced level skills and game strategies.

Team Administration
Plan long and short-term objective under the leadership of the head coach.
Assist in the establishment of requirements for team members in terms of academic and athletic progress.
May serve as the academic liaison for the team.
Assist in the discipline of student-athletes.
Coordinate recruiting efforts with the Athletic Academic Services Staff.
Coordinate scholarships with the Athletic Compliance Staff.
Assist in the management of the budget if applicable.
Assist in the coordination and management of team travel if applicable.
Assist in the completion of all necessary compliance documentation under the direction of the compliance office.

Campus/Community Communication
Serve as guest speaker at public events on behalf of MSU Athletics.
Recommend policies and procedures for the student-athlete handbook.
Serve in a leadership role and promote participation in community service activities by student-athletes.
Assist in the formulation of team and department fund-raising activities and promotional events.
Coordinate community service and MSU athletics-to-school programs under the direction of the Marketing and Promotions Office.
