 Position Status: Exempt 
 Salary Range: This part-time temporary coaching position will be paid approximately $15,000 as a stipend per academic year, and may be rehired to work during future seasons. The actual stipend offered will depend on a candidate&#8217;s experience and education, length of applicable season including any pre-season and post-season work, required time commitment during the applicable season, and departmental budget.
Responsibilities 
 Supervises and operates all phases of a competitive Division III women&#8217;s bowling program.&#xa0; 
 Conducts all coaching of the women&#8217;s bowling program during intercollegiate contests and practices.
 Connects student-athletes with appropriate campus resources to support their academic success.
 Coordinates the recruitment of student-athletes for the women&#8217;s bowling program and contributes to the enrollment and retention efforts of the institution and the athletic department. The head coach will be required to achieve a yearly recruitment goal to maintain the appropriate roster as determined but the Director of Athletics.
 Works with direct supervisor to understand and know the annual budget structure and subsequently monitors expenditures.
 Develops the contest schedule and coordinates all team travel arrangements with the support of direct supervisor.
 Plans, organizes and administers in-season practice sessions.
 Maintains and updates a sufficient inventory of equipment, selects and orders equipment and other materials needed to successfully run the program, and oversees the issuing and collecting of all equipment, uniforms, supplies, and materials.
 Collaborates with the Director of Athletic Communications pertaining to all media relations, providing information for the promotional needs of game programs, team media guides, recruiting brochures and other publications.
 Demonstrates a working knowledge of Elmhurst University, NCAA, and CCIW rules and regulations. Adheres to NCAA compliance regulations.
 Endorses and supports other sports within the Athletic department.
 Supports the athletic department and the institution&#8217;s commitment to inclusion and belonging.
 Assists with summer duties as necessary to support recruitment of incoming student-athletes, retention of current student-athletes, and attendance at minimal departmental events.

 Working Conditions/Physical Requirements 
 The essential functions of this position are primarily performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including extended periods of extreme heat and cold. Work requires frequent districtwide, statewide, and out-of-state travel for recruiting or attending athletic competitions. Required abilities include walking, navigating uneven or slippery surfaces, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods; may require lifting and transporting equipment in excess of 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally; and using fine motor skills to operate and maneuver a range of athletic or training equipment.  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The role oversees all program operations, including budget management, scheduling, travel, equipment, and facility setup, while implementing systems that ensure long-term sustainability. The Head Coach is responsible for supporting student-athlete academic success and personal development, maintaining full compliance with NCAA, conference, and University regulations, representing the institution with professionalism, and contributing to conference-wide growth initiatives. The position will establish a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture, setting clear standards for accountability, leadership, and student-athlete development while shaping the program&#8217;s identity and values.  Assists the Head Coach with the ongoing teaching and instruction of Cadet-athletes in the performance of their sport such as, but not limited to, games, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions. 
 Coach and instruct student-athletes individually and in groups and demonstrate game techniques and skills required to be successful. 
 Plan and attend coaching and practice sessions, games, tournaments, etc. in accordance with NCAA and conference regulations for specified positions.&#xa0; 
 Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of Cadet-athletes to support the image and reputation of the department and academy. Responsible for the development, safety and conduct of the cadet-athletes within the sport program. 
 Supervises other support staff to ensure compliance with applicable rules, policies, and procedures; provides orientation, training and guidance as needed; conducts performance evaluations. 
 
 25% Recruiting 
 
 Has a large role in the identification, recruitment, and selection of prospective Cadet-athletes; ensures compliance with NCAA recruiting rules and regulations; initiates process for determining academic eligibility. 
 Recruit quality prospective Cadet-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions. 
 
 5% Academics&#xa0; 
 
 Provide an overall positive educational environment for Cadet-athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.&#xa0; 
 Supervise, in conjunction with the athletic tutoring and advising program, the total academic progress of the team implementing corrective action plans through appropriate staff. 
 
 25% Administrative&#xa0; 
 
 Work to integrate sports into the whole spectrum of USMA life to complement the AWPAA and USMA mission in the military community.&#xa0; 
 Assist the Head Coach in the administration of the entire sport program, including, but not limited to daily practices, game planning and implementation, recruiting, video, equipment management, facilities scheduling, and budget. 
 Ensures that team travel arrangements are in compliance with USMA, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, to include monitoring development of travel itineraries and coordination of travel plans. 
 Ensures safety of Cadet-athlete and coaching staff through careful monitoring of the condition of athletics equipment and facilities utilized by designated sport; submits requirements for repair, maintenance, and improvement of facilities to facility manager, when appropriate. 
 
 15% Engagement/Camps &#38; Clinics &#xa0; 
 
 Perform both direct and indirect public relations functions including promotion, fundraising, public speaking, community events, and through camps and/or clinics. Serve on departmental committees as requested. 
 Assist with departmental needs as requested; When practical under the circumstances, staff are encouraged to voluntarily attend athletic events to promote audience participation and support for AWPAA sport programs.

Responsibilities 
Coaching &#38; Student-Athlete Development
    Coach, instruct, and condition swimming and diving student-athletes in sport fundamentals, skill development, and strategy while fostering an educationally sound and developmentally enriching environment.
    Develop and conduct daily practices and oversee a competitive NCAA intercollegiate schedule, including ensuring travel to and from away competitions, consistent with department and University policies.
    Develop, manage, and communicate a comprehensive annual program calendar that includes traditional and non-traditional seasons.

Recruiting
    Recruit, motivate, and retain student athletes consistent with institutional admissions and roster management expectations, policies, and practices. Collaborate with administrators to determine appropriate roster size.
    Partner with the Office of Admissions to best align with University goals in recruiting prospective students.

Team Leadership &#38; Management

    Report and discuss concerns that implicate student mental health, student conduct, allegations of potential hazing, misconduct, discrimination, harassment or retaliation or other concerns about student well-being or conduct with Student Affairs.     Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, and student workers for assigned sport and job responsibilities.
    Promote a culture of professionalism, respect, accountability, and continuous growth.
    Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with student-athletes, assistant and volunteer coaches, and other program staff. Educate assistant coaches and volunteer coaches on their obligations to do the same.
    Participate in professional development opportunities through recognized national coaching and sport organizations, in adherence with institutional policies and dependent on available resources.
    Serve as primary ambassador and represent the program publicly and through strategic communication and media initiatives.

Compliance &#38; Institutional Alignment
    Ensure full compliance with NCAA and SCIAC rules and regulations. Participate in required departmental, conference, and NCAA meetings, education, and training programs, and adhere to university and departmental policies and procedures.
    Promote, model, and enforce the highest standards of competitive integrity, academic responsibility, and professional conduct for student-athletes consistent with university policies, departmental expectations, and NCAA regulations.
    Commit to reporting any potential concerns or violations to the Director of Athletics or the University&#8217;s Office of Institutional Compliance.
    Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and Title IX Mandatory Reporter, including completion of required training and timely reporting.

Administrative Responsibilities
    Develop and obtain the Director&#8217;s approval of an annual operating budget. Manage and oversee expenditures in accordance with the approved budget, departmental and University policies.
    Oversee maintenance of athletic facilities, including partnering with others in the department or University to share common facility spaces.
    Partner with University Advancement to develop and implement fundraising initiatives that support program goals. Cultivate and foster positive long-standing relationships with alumni, donors, parents, key volunteers, and program supporters.

Game Administrator Responsibilities
    Serve as game administrator for home sporting events as assigned by the Director including, but not limited to, men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s water polo, baseball, softball, and tennis home events.
    Oversight of event operations, personnel coordination, and ensuring a safe and professional game environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Head Golf Coach and Events Supervisor provides leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, fostering their athletic, academic, and personal growth. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the sport program including but not limited to coaching and teaching of students, recruiting, contest and practice preparation and execution, fund-raising/friend raising, budget management, compliance with NCAA and conference rules/regulations, participation as a member of the College community and with all collaborative departmental functions as needed.


 As the Assistant Coach &#8211; Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Track &#38; Field, you will: 
 
 Demonstrating a high level of teaching and coaching competency in sport skill instruction, sport strategy, tactics and rules, physical training and fitness and student motivation in practice execution
 Participate in on and off campus recruitment activities of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes which will include data entry and correspondence, talent identification, communication of College opportunities and expectations.
 Active contest preparation through scouting, image analysis, strategy discussions, travel arrangements
 Assist the head coach in all areas of implementing a competitive, successful educational athletic program emphasizing the quality experience for the student athletes.  While the ability to show initiative and work independently is essential, all activities will be under the direction and supervision of the head coach.
 Exhibits the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to the NCAA, Conference, Allegheny College, and Department of Athletics and Recreation&#8217;s values statement, including commitment to life long learning, sportsmanship on and off the field of play, positive leadership and the desire and ability to act as a positive role model and representative of the College at all times.
 Demonstrating a sincere interest in the social, emotional, academic development, as well as the athletic welfare of student-athletes; collaborating on academic monitoring and guidance of students where appropriate.
 Contributing to the maintenance of excellent working relationships with all members of the Department and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program.
 Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation which may include supervision of students in recreational programs including intramurals, club sports, general facility monitoring, game-day management, concessions fundraising opportunities or other special projects.
 
 

  Experience and Qualifications  
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree required, Master&#8217;s Degree preferred
 Minimum of 1-3 years preferred of relevant professional experience.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite of Products, and Front Rush Recruiting Software
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to teach through use of images and emerging technologies. 
 Travel is required and includes extended periods on the road. Evening, holiday and weekend hours along with flexible work scheduling are required. Frequent travel outside of the College.
 Lifting, carrying, loading sport specific equipment; set up and tear down of sports contest support equipment; some care and maintenance of sport specific or general athletic facilities
 

  YOUR COMPENSATION  
Starting salary will be competitive, based on the candidate&#8217;s qualifications and experience.
Expected starting salary: $33,820.00 annually - full time, exempt

OVERVIEW:
The W Athletics Department sponsors 17 sports and is an NCAA III member that competes in the St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

This is a 10-month position that runs from August thru May, with the potential to be renewed for a second year. 

This position includes a tuition scholarship of ten (10) credits per semester (fall and spring semesters only). Required summer coursework may be covered. A maximum of forty (40) credit hours will be included in the scholarship over the course of two (2) years. 

In addition, a stipend of $4000 per semester (a maximum of $8,000 annually) will be awarded.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Graduate Assistant 
will provide support and assistance with all aspects of the intercollegiate athletics of the program in which he/she is assigned.
The Graduate Assistant will assist in overseeing all administrative matters, including, but not limited to compliance with intercollegiate governing body rules and regulations, NCAA institutional certification and academic monitoring. The Graduate Assistant
will work to provide the optimum experience for The Mississippi University for Women&#8217;s student-athletes which includes, but is not limited to activities such as supervision of the athletic facilities, locker rooms, office spaces, concession stand, and the maintenance, cataloging, and security of all related equipment and supplies. The Graduate Assistant is to provide leadership in support of the program&#8217;s goals in alignment with
the University&#8217;s mission, vision, and strategic plan; to abide by the rules and regulations established by the Mississippi University for Women, the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and any other University identified governing body. The Graduate Assistant will supervise and mentor student-athletes; participates in game-day
support and management of operations for any athletic team throughout the year; and participates in appropriate fundraising activities as deemed by the head coach or athletic director with an absolute commitment to the enhancement and support of fundraising efforts.  Key Responsibilities  

 Coaching and Player Development  
 
 Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and skill-development activities.
 Develop and implement training plans that enhance student-athlete performance while prioritizing health, safety, and well-being.
 Provide in-game coaching and strategic decision-making to enable the team to compete at the highest level, in and out of conference competition.
 Conduct video review, performance analysis, and other analytical methods, as well as individualized coaches for continuous program improvement.
 Establish team standards, expectations, values, and culture that align with the athletic department and the College.
 Work with strength and conditioning staff to create training programs to maintain appropriate preparedness to meet the demands of the sport.
 Attend appropriate continuing education to stay up to date on knowledge, safety, and technique.
 
 Recruitment and Talent Identification  
 
 Identify, evaluate, and recruit highly qualified student-athletes who are aligned with the College&#8217;s academic and competitive standards.  
 Build and maintain a roster of recruited student-athletes.
 Coordinate and execute all recruiting activities, including contacts, campus visits, communications, and collaboration, maintaining a critical relationship with the Office of Admissions.  
 Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective students, families, high school and club coaches, and other external partners.  
 
 Student-Athlete Mentoring and Support  
 
 Serve as a mentor and primary support resource for student-athletes.
 Promote academic success by collaborating with faculty, advisors, campus support services, and the Director of Student-Athlete Success.
 Cultivate a team environment grounded in integrity, respect, and personal accountability.  
 Lead the holistic development of program&#8217;s student-athletes, including leadership skills, resiliency, and community engagement. 
 Expectation of being present, on campus, for your student-athletes throughout the academic year.
 Represent the program and the College to students, parents, community, alumni, and the general public.
 
 Leadership and Administration  
 
 Manage all day-to-day program operations, including scheduling practices and competitions, organizing team travel, and coordinating other items with appropriate athletics staff and leadership.  
 Oversee program budget to include travel, equipment, officials, and recruiting expenses, as well as equipment procurement and inventory. 
 Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and policies, as well as state and federal guidelines.  
 Assist in departmental initiatives, community outreach efforts, and special events as needed.  
 Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches, student-workers, and other program personnel.  
 Make appropriate recommendations to athletic administration about maintenance concerns and enhancement needs for facilities.

 Education and Experience 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree required. 
 Previous coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level. 
 CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications will be required upon start.
