Stanford Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach, Women’s Water Polo to assist the Head Women’s Water Polo coach with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship-caliber team. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, coaching student-athletes, recruiting, game management, video coordinating, scouting, academic monitoring, practice organization, player development, external relations, engaging with athletic department colleagues and faculty, camps, compliance, travel, and other administrative duties as assigned. This is a one-year fixed-term position.
Your responsibilities include:
- Help plan and organize team training and practice sessions.
- Assist with recruiting student-athletes to compete at Stanford. Follow NCAA guidelines and University standards and policies in coordinating recruiting efforts.
- Help plan and organize Stanford water polo camp.
- Understand and apply NCAA regulations to all aspects of program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or his designee.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous Division I or National Team playing or coaching experience OR demonstrated success in high level age group club coaching
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Ability to use technology for player development and statistical and video analysis
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Cooperation and collegiality with the Athletic Department, Stanford Campus, and Water Polo communities
DAPER’s Integrity:
This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and MPSF rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 per annum.
