JOB SUMMARY: WPU strives to create a vibrant learning community for all members, including students, staff, and faculty. QUALIFICATIONS: 

A. Education 
&#8226;  Bachelor&#8217;s Degree required. Master&#8217;s Degree Preferred.

B. Experience 
&#8226;  Coaching experience required. College coaching experience preferred.

C. Abilities  

&#8226; Demonstrated talent in building cohesive teams; 

&#8226; Independent decision making and ability to exercise good judgment, and use of critical thinking skills,

&#8226; Ability to work in an environment of shifting priorities, frequent interruptions, hectic pace, and interaction with students, staff, alumni, and the public; 

&#8226; Good written and oral communication skills; 

&#8226; Demonstrate the ability to be a positive team member;

&#8226; Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines; 

&#8226; Organizational skills, time management, relationship building, and communication skills essential; 

&#8226; Ability to handle highly confidential matters and materials with discretion;

&#8226; Willingness to work long hours. 
 

REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics 
 

SUPERVISES: Assistant Coaches, Graduate Assistant coaches, Student Coaches and Managers  
 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

&#8226;Awarding institutional funds.

&#8226;Administer the program to be in total compliance with William Penn, NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and HAAC regulations and guidelines. 

&#8226;Monitor and stay within the parameters of your budget.

&#8226;Maintain the scholarship average designated by the university for all student-athletes in your program.    

&#8226;Lead recruiting and retaining student-athlete efforts. 

&#8226;Attend Athletic Department meetings. 

&#8226;Coordinate travel plans with the Transportation Director. 

&#8226;Be a positive role model for athletes and monitor discipline procedures within your sport. 

&#8226;Coordinate and oversee an ethical process for recruiting and retaining student-athletes for your program, meeting recruitment goals set by the university.

&#8226;Encourage/monitor attendance and academic performance. 

&#8226;Assist with annual inventory. 

&#8226;Conduct yourself in a professional manner and display good sportsmanship at all times. 

&#8226;Fulfill all obligations, as established by your program, for the NAIA Champions of Character initiative. 

&#8226;Be loyal and supportive of the Staff, Faculty and Administration. 

&#8226;Always follow the Chain of Command. 

&#8226;Cooperate and communicate with the Training Staff 

&#8226;Assist with the supervision of other athletic events as needed by the administration. 

&#8226;All Other duties as assigned. 
 

EVALUATION: 

Performance will be the responsibility of the Director of Athletics.
