The Assistant Softball Coach is a full-time, 12-month, Pitching position responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Softball Program. The Assistant Softball Coach provides effective leadership, recruitment, coaching and monitoring of student-athletes to encourage successful academic and team performance.
In collaboration with the Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Softball Coach will be charged with assisting the UMBC Softball Pitchers, and is expected to identify, evaluate and recruit Pitchers that can be successful athletically, academically and socially in a Division I environment.
Player development: Pitching (practice planning and skill instruction, game management, attention to academics and commitment to community service)
Recruiting and retaining academically and athletically qualified student-athletes Assisting with administrative responsibilities (scheduling, team travel and balancing the budget)
Cultivating relationships with alumni
Working with Athletics Department staff on fundraising, special events and appearances; and performing other duties as assigned
