Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Softball Coach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide support in the oversight of a successful NCAA DII softball program.
Coach assigned players, units, or skill positions in the skills necessary to excel.
Ability to hit fungo and throw front toss proficiently
Assist in field maintenance/prep and equipment of softball facility.
Assist with the recruitment and development of student-athletes who will successfully represent the institution academically, athletically and socially.
Manage and comply with NCAA, Gulf South Conference and institutional related compliance.
Commitment to a positive student-athlete experience.
Work closely with the department staff to schedule events and facility usage.
Monitor student-athlete’s academic progress to ensure eligibility and student success.
Assist with management of all program budgets, travel (packing uniforms/laundry), scheduling, meals, and purchasing, in line with the guidelines provided by the athletic department and the Office of Financial Services.
Monitor the safety of conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted.
Ability to maintain office work, write and respond to emails, submit paperwork through ARMs/Teamworks and other avenues
Keep appropriate team/individual statistics
Assist with fundraising and community outreach events.
Supervise strength & conditioning programs in partnership with the Strength & Conditioning staff
Additional responsibilities to be assigned by the Head Softball Coach or Director of Athletics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the following:
NCAA Division II and Gulf South Conference rules and regulations
Sport-specific techniques
Institutional policies, practices and procedures
Recruiting and compliance-related documentation
Ability to:
Successfully lead, recruit and manage people
Execute strong interpersonal skills
Apply acceptable teaching, coaching and mentoring techniques
Counsel and advise pre-college and college student-athletes within established rules and expectations
Rules and regulations set force by the NCAA Division II and the GSC, to ensure compliance relative to those applicable rules.
Manage budgets
Assist with facility and equipment maintenance
Administer First Aid, CPR and AED
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
On year of experience coaching college softball.
Valid driver’s license.
Continued employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree.
Previous softball coaching experience at the NCAADII level.
