The UAlbany Women’s Basketball program is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic year. The Graduate Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Basketball Program in accordance with NCAA, America East Conference and university rules and regulations. Applicants would be expected to enroll and be accepted into a two-year master’s degree program at UAlbany.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to: On-Court & Office Responsibilities - Attend & participate in all aspects of the program (staff meetings, compliance, practice/games, community events, recruiting, etc.) - Assist RC with on & off-campus recruiting (Visits, social trends, Manage recruiting database, etc.) - Social Media Assistant (creating content for social media & recruiting purposes) - Video Coordinator (film breakdown using Synergy & Keemotion) - Director of Community Service - Study Hall Monitor - Assistant Director of Alumni Relations - Assistant Camp Director - Assist with practice/ game day responsibilities (liaison with facilities and games management) - Assist with daily office operations - Maintain statistics for practice and games - Adhere to all NCAA, AE Conference and University rules and regulations - Other duties as assigned by head coach in accordance with NCAA rules
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Admission to a Graduate Program at UAlbany
- Knowledge within intercollegiate athletics, preferably within Women’s Basketball
- Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Photoshop, Acrobat,
Premiere Pro, etc.)
- Introductory knowledge of social media platforms, analytics, and graphic formatting
- Strong customer service skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Excellent spelling and communication skills
- Able to take and give tangible feedback
- Work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Being adaptive to change, show flexibility in skills & a willingness to take and give constructive
feedback
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student
environment
- Must be able to work Non-standard schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
