Troy Athletics is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Graduate Assistant within the Development and External Operations Department. The responsibilities listed below provide a guideline of expected responsibilities. Detailed responsibilities will be assigned based on candidate’s background. This opportunity is available beginning with the Fall 2022 semester, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022 if not earlier.
Job Duties: •Assist the Executive Associate Athletics Director of External Operations and the Chief Development Officer with responsibilities as assigned that will involve Development, Licensing, Branding and the T-Club Letterwinners Association. •Will work with sport specific giving projects as assigned by the Chief Development Officer. •Will assist the Chief Development Officer with overseeing all suites and the stadium club for all home football games. Will also help with overseeing the suites for home basketball games. •Assist the Chief Development Officer with donor database management and maintenance. •Assist with key giving campaigns throughout the year to support all athletics programs. •Oversee all suite stocking events and will serve as the liaison for all premium area food and beverage orders. •Assist with the Troy Athletics licensing program. This will include visiting with current and potential vendors to support the Troy brand. This will also include assisting with hosting annual Licensing Appreciation events and communicating with officially licensed Troy vendors. •Oversee select special events such as Letterwinner Days at home athletic events, assisting with revenue-producing events such as the Football Kickoff Party, First Pitch Banquet and Tipoff Banquet as well as assisting with donor hospitality for home football and basketball games. •Assist with quarterly newsletters to members of the T-Club Letterwinners Association. Will also assist with sport specific giving organizations such as the Diamond Club for Baseball and the Circle T Club for Men’s and Women’s Golf. •Assist with membership drives for the T-Club Letterwinners Association. Will work with the Executive Associate AD of External Operations as well as the Development Team on these items.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Admission to a Troy University graduate program (must be accepted as a graduate student to accept position)
- Excellent oral communication skills, written communications skills and customer service skills
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and strong time management skills
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, keep up with high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience (student worker, internship or volunteer) in the sports industry
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Working knowledge of collegiate/professional sports and/or marketing background
