Position Description The Texas Tech University Postgraduate Intercollegiate Athletics Internship is intended to provide on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in various areas of intercollegiate athletics. This program can last 12-36 months.
Future leaders will gain experience in using principles such as:
- Applying a standard of ethics to policy and administrative context - Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current operations within area of assignment - Communicating relevant information and ideas - Managing university resources to achieve organizational goals
Assist in all aspects of the football strength and conditioning daily procedure
Assist in administering and evaluating testing procedures and data input for coaches, athletes, and staff
Work closely with all sport coaches, athletic trainers, team physicians and communicate any goals or issues with teams or individuals
Maintenance and cleanliness of weight room facilities
Assist with daily warm-ups, cool down routines for practices, competitions and strength and conditioning workouts.
Work closely with the internship program and Exercise Science department in scheduling interns, volunteers and practicum students
Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies
Required Qualifications Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.
Preferred Qualifications CSCCa certification. Masters degree in related field.
