The assistant coach is responsible for assisting in the direction of all phases of the women’s basketball program in accordance with Eastern New Mexico University, the Lone Star Conference, and NCAA DII regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with planning, instructing, and supervising daily practice sessions 
• Organizing and directing individual and group skill workouts 
• Scouting opponents and preparing scouting reports
• Assisting with coaching, implementing strategies, and tracking statistics during competition
• Models professional behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators 
• Knowledge of and compliance with institution, conference, and NCAA DII regulations
• Coordinating and conducting off-season basketball training and conditioning
• Assisting with scheduling, travel arrangements, and various office work as assigned
• Coordinate and implement camps and clinics
• Recruiting quality and committed student-athletes within scholarship structure and limits
• Provide academic support and oversight for all student-athletes
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• At least 3 years of successful coaching and recruiting experience required
• Ability to recruit student-athletes that will be successful in the classroom and on the court
• Ability to lead, mentor and motivate student-athletes
• Strong communication, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills  
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Must have a commitment to the integrity, success and prosperity of intercollegiate athletics
• A valid New Mexico Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is also required

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

• Work is performed inside a non-smoking facility
• Work requires traveling
• May have exposure to bloodborne pathogens

• Work requires medium exertion in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
