St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Head Softball Coach. This position is charged with fulfilling the duties and responsibilities below. The coach is expected to follow all NCAA, Conference and College policies.
Specific responsibilities: - Instruct and work with student-athletes to prepare them for competition. Help athletes to enhance athletic performance individually or as a team unit. Understand the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Teach student-athletes how to use sports equipment efficiently and safely. Organize and conduct practice sessions throughout the day as needed.
- With the assistance of the Director of Athletics, defines and achieves annual enrollment goals of the programs. Recruits qualified student-athletes to participate in the program. Recruiting is by direct mailings, handwritten notes, electronic, telephonic, and in-person (travel required) means. Assumes responsibility for the retention and matriculation process for student-athletes in their athletic and academic endeavors.
- Manage funds by preparing the budget and exercising authority for all expenditures related to the program. Responsible for fundraising efforts on behalf of the programs.
- Develop a competent and effective coaching staff by recruiting and hiring qualified applicants, providing guidance on departmental or college policies and coaching philosophy, encouraging professional development through participation in coaching decisions and recruiting activities, making coaching assignments based upon qualifications, supervising coaching activities, and evaluating performance.
- Teaches approximately 1-2 activity courses in physical education annually.

Experienced in planning and executing events, programs, and projects.
Confident presenter to large audiences (100+ people).
