Job Description Provides support to users of information technology within Sun Devil Athletics (SDA) and at SDA athletic events. Work typically involves routine delivery, installation, set-up, maintenance and upgrade of computer hardware and software, as well as a combination of providing expert advice and troubleshooting on software products, administering and maintaining shared-use systems, communicating with users and user groups on technology topics, providing instruction, and evaluating, recommending, and installing technological solutions to new problems or situations. Reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director. Adheres to NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Essential Duties - Provides service to all users of information technology within Sun Devil Athletics in response to installation of new equipment, services requests to diagnose and repair problems, testing equipment, etc.
- Maintains a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise on technology products or platforms through research, personal use, vendor presentations, and training.
- Ensures PCI compliance with all new electronic purchases.
- Oversees and collaborates with UTO and University Audit departments to administer periodic audits of SDA’s technology services.
- Manages the SDA Technology Office that includes full-time and part-time staff.
- Mentors IT staff on systems analysis, troubleshooting, and customer support techniques.
- Oversees cellphone/tablet distribution which includes reviewing and approving the monthly cell phone bill in a timely manner.
- Schedules regular meetings with IT staff and assigns IT support at athletic events to ensure all technology needs are met.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of all electronic equipment, including documenting repair or work completed including estimating cost of repairs if deemed necessary. Procures replacement parts and supplies when necessary.
- Trains IT staff on software compliance and other software and hardware.
- Collaborate with sports departments in maintaining, modifying, and implementing technology associated with recruiting and video editing software.
- Installs and/or relocates new or used technology-related equipment using proper configurations and identifying needs for wiring and cable location.
- Researches and recommends technology improvements.
- Collaborates with others on a variety of technology and technology support projects.
- Assists with maintaining, modifying, and implementing enterprise level event ticketing systems.
- Provides maintenance of PAC-12 video replay and network systems.
- Provides network setup for ESPN, Fox Sports and other sports broadcasting stations.
- Performs other IT related duties as required.
Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field AND four years experience providing information technology services; OR, eight years experience providing information technology services; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.
Desired Qualificiations - Evidence of a Bachelor’s degree in related field AND related experience within a D1 athletic environment.
- Experience with ASU's network infrastructure preferred.
- Experience with ACS compliance software, athletic recruiting software, Ticketmaster, XOS, DVSport, Microsoft Windows Server, JAMF Pro, SCCM, ServiceNow, EMS Scheduling.
- Experience making decisions in a changing environment and anticipating future needs.
- Experience working in stressful situations.
- Experience handling sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Experience working collaboratively with members of all constituencies of the department.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of technology products sufficient to provide expert trouble-shooting and advice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of relevant technology tools sufficient to answer customer questions about use, to recommend configurations to meet specific needs, and to solve a wide variety of troubleshooting problems.

Working Environment - Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 30 pounds.
- Regularly required to work in cramped and enclosed areas and exposure to variations in temperature when deploying equipment.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- May need to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays to support athletic events.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
