East Tennessee State University has three positions available for a Graduate Assistantship Position/Certified Internship Position for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of East Tennessee State University varsity student-athletes. The sport assignments that are available at this time are: men’s and women’s cross country/track field, women’s volleyball, and women’s softball. Additional responsibilities will be determined by the Director of Sports Medicine and the respective supervising Athletic Trainer.
With each of these available positions, there is an opportunity to work with outpatient physician’s services through BucSports Athletic Medicine Center. The BucSports Athletic Medicine Center at East Tennessee State University is a multi-disciplinary clinic offering sports medicine services to ETSU student-athletes and the general public.
Graduate assistantship positions are a two-year appointment that may be renewable after completion of the first year. Internship positions are a one-year appointment that are renewable after completion of the first year.

Applicants for the position must have a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from CAATE accredited athletic training curriculum. Applicants must also be certified or eligible to sit for NATABOC exam and eligible for Tennessee State Licensure.
