Responsibilities
The University of Akron, a Division 1 (FBS) institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) is seeking applicants for a Manager of Athletics Operations and Events. Primary responsibilities include: managing and supervising the Stile Athletics Field House activities and special events; scheduling, staffing, building maintenance and other activities necessary to maintain the daily operations and special events that may be housed in the building; managing and supervising the Field House building and related activities; coordinating, staffing, scheduling and set-up of the Athletic Field House for University team practices, meets, games, special events and outside rentals and events that may include, camps, conferences, clinics, field sports, track meets, etc; managing and coordinating the daily and preventative maintenance of all areas of the Field House building and equipment; assisting with the administration and preparation of Athletics Department's sports camps, clinic programs and event management; and representing Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations at various athletic and University events, non-University rentals and event management meetings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in collegiate athletics and /or facilities management. Exceptional organizational, public relations, budgeting/accounting, computer and supervisory skills. Ability to work potential evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of state and local fire/safety regulations related to crowd control and building capacity. Working knowledge of NCAA and MAC rules and regulations that pertain to athletic event operations and scheduling procedures regarding faculty request usage.
Compensation
The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
