The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Position will assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning and other staff members in the design, implementation, and execution of all strength and conditioning programming for all St. Bonaventure University Varsity Student-Athletes/Sports Teams with emphasis on sports performance enhancement and injury prevention.
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will design programming and instruct student-athletes in proper exercise techniques for weight training, speed development, and conditioning for assigned teams by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Interaction with assigned sport coaches and assigned sports medicine staff members will be daily as well as weekly updates to the Director of Strength and Conditioning about the progress of assigned sports. Other duties will be assigned at the discretion of the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
This is a 12 month full-time position.
Minimum BA/BS degree in Exercise Science or related degree [Master's Degree Preferred] and 1-4 years of collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience. SCCC certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) or CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is required. Candidate must hold current Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification and/or be willing to obtain per athletic department policy. Knowledge in the use of Velocity Based Training tools like Tendo, Open Barbell, Gym Aware, or PUSH is a plus. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint would be extremely helpful. Candidates must also be able to lift at least 50-100 pounds.
