The Assistant Coach will perform duties that include but are not limited to: assisting the Head Coach and Defensive or Offensive Coordinator with every phase of a Division I A football program: on the field defensive/offensive coaching, recruiting, scheduling, planning team travel, budgeting funds, monitoring academic progress and knowledge and compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations. Other duties include but are not limited to: serving as a role model for our athletes, exhibiting good sporting behavior, assisting the head coach in fund raising and promotional activities, breaking down game film and illustrating defensive tendencies of opponents, other special projects as assigned by the Head Coach. Position will also assist the head football coach and the Defensive/Offensive Coordinator with the following duties: Coach assigned defensive/offensive position; recruit assigned athletes in designated area; assist to schedule events; plan individual travel for recruiting; budget recruiting funds, prepare and produce breakdown of opponents tendencies for position players review and scouting reports. Assist head coach with fund raising activities; assist with the development of the defensive/offensive playbook and assist with related special projects as assigned.
Bachelors degree. Two years high school, college or professional coaching and/or collegiate competition experience. Must have; experience in the sport of football as a player and/or as a coach; necessary skills to teach the fundamentals of the sport with defense/offense being a major aspect of this position. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is essential.
