Lafayette College, an NCAA Division I institution (FCS football) with 23 sports and a charter member of the Patriot League (American, Army, Boston Univ., Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola, Navy), seeks ambitious candidates for a leadership position in its Athletic Communications Department.
The successful candidate, a leader within the department, will have two major areas of responsibility: branding/content creation and event marketing/production. To successfully accomplish the goals of this position, the successful candidate will:
Develop and produce fan experience items for ticketed events, including but not limited to PA scripts, in-venue run of shows, music selections and playlists, promotional contests, and special recognition opportunities.
Share responsibility for the successful maintenance and operation of venue video board operating systems and sound systems.
Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive and dynamic social media strategy for athletics, oversee and/or handle all content production, manage and maintain athletic branding initiatives, and be responsible for the hiring and managing of video, graphic and digital design staff and student interns.
May contribute in roles on project teams and working groups within the Communications Division and Athletic Department, or in other ways within the Athletic Communications Department.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of
experience in athletic communications, the use of analytics, and all related digital
platforms and software. Advanced computer skills (photo editing, video editing, graphic
design and in-game statistical software) required. Ability to handle several tasks at once
while meeting deadlines is a must. Emphasis on strong writing and communications skills
with a background in public relations or related field preferred.
