Albright College invites applications and nominations for the position of Head Field Hockey Coach and Director of Athletics Marketing. The candidate will help create a fully participating atmosphere aligning with the Athletic Department mission to recruit, retain and graduate athletes from all demographics. This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Athletics Department. Albright is an NCAA Division III member institution as well as a member of the Middle Atlantic conference (MAC), the Commonwealth Conference and NAC eSports League.
Responsibilities: The head coach, in collaboration with athletic administration, assistant coaches, and support personnel, is responsible for the overall administration of the field hockey program. The program is expected to reflect the highest standards of ethical conduct and comply with NCAA and Middle Atlantic Conference specific governance. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the field hockey program including, but not limited to, teaching and training, general program management, counseling and advising student-athletes, budget management, and the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. In addition, the candidate will be Director of Athletics Marketing. This role involves soliciting outside constituents for marketing opportunities in athletics. This includes, but not limited to, two athletics golf outings. Additional related athletic duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, a successful coaching career, an understanding of the role of athletics in a Division III academic institution, excellent communication skills, superior leadership and organizational abilities, and a demonstrated ability to recruit academically successful student-athletes.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead the field hockey program with on field coaching.
Recruit prospective student athletes on and off campus. Evaluate player talent for recruits.
Organize recruiting communications and campus visits.
Set up and monitor student athlete academic sessions.
Upload game film, breakdown game film and prepare scouting reports (both video and text).
Organize program fundraising.
Maintain team social media pages.
Promote full participation within program and all athletic events.
Solicit partners with Albright Athletics Department for advertising and marketing opportunities
Promote Albright College Athletics within the community by partnering with local businesses and organizations
Regularly communicate and correspond with alumni, friends, parents, and sponsors of Albright Athletics and our programs.
Work closely with Development and Alumni Relations to support Albright Athletics and maintain relationships with alumni and friends of Albright Athletics.
Collaborate with other campus departments including Development, College Relations, and Alumni Relations to promote Athletics Events and fundraising opportunities
