Primary Function: Serving as a member of the Athletics Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Sports Medicine is responsible for the administration of the sports medicine program, including managing athletic training staff, coordinating with team physicians, and the administration of insurance. Oversee complete medical care regarding all varsity student-athletes participating in 24 varsity sports. Evaluate and treat athletic injuries, rehabilitate athletes, and recommend injury prevention strategies. This position works with considerable independence and self-direction. Only the general direction and scope of the work to be accomplished are discussed with the supervisor.
