Monmouth University is seeking applications for a 2nd Assistant Field Hockey Coach in the Athletics department. This is a 52 week position. The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including planning and implementing practices, recruiting prospective student-athletes, and overall program development and planning. Additional responsibilities include game-day management, coordinating equipment needs, and film break down and knowledge of film cutting systems. This role is important not only for the day-to-day operational aspects of running a successful program, but also for building strong relationships and meaningful connections with our student-athletes. Assistant coaches play a vital role in the overall culture of the team, as our players develop close and impactful relationships with them throughout their collegiate experience and who aligns with the values and culture of our program.
Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with a commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience both on and off the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Head Coach in all areas of coaching including planning and implementing practices, recruiting, and program planning. Cutting film and uploading.
Assume specific role as designated by Head Coach in practice and game settings.
Be available for all practices, games, and team travel throughout the fall and spring seasons.
Game day management including equipment needs, and preparing and submitting umpire contracts.
Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
Evaluate potential student athletes.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Field hockey playing or coaching experience
PR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence
Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks
A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here: Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience
International coaching or playing experience
