RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Plan and operate the Division ll intercollegiate football program at Winona State University within the guidelines, policies, rules and regulations of the University, NCAA and NSIC.
•Manage the football program’s recruitment efforts including attendance at high school/club events, evaluation of prospective student-athletes, and generation of applications to the University.
•Identify and facilitate academic support for the success of all student-athletes.
•Retain and graduate successful student-athletes for the football program.
•Successfully manage all aspects of football program budget.
•Promote and support Winona State University and the Athletic Department’s program mission and goals.
•Represent Winona State University and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality.
•Foster interest in Winona State University with all high school students and school personnel while recruiting for WSU and the football program.
•Instruct university courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
•Engage in research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
•Provide evidence of continuing professional development to enhance coaching abilities.
•Contribute to student growth and development.
•Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
•Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
•Other duties as assigned in the Athletic Department as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree plus a minimum of four (4) years coaching experience OR a bachelor’s plus a minimum of eight (8) years of coaching experience. • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Head coaching experience. • Collegiate level coaching experience at a four-year institution. • Knowledge of NCAA and NSIC rules and regulations.
