Position Purpose: Graduate Assistant Coach Athletics
The Graduate Assistant – Athletics is responsible for supporting the success and daily operations of an assigned intercollegiate sport. This includes recruiting and developing student-athletes who fit NCU’s culture and mission, and fostering spiritual, academic, and athletic growth. This role supports the Director of Athletics and coaching staff in creating a Christ-centered, competitive athletic experience
Primary Responsibilities for GA Coach Athletics
The following information is not meant to be all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Assist Head Coach with all practices, games, and scouting.
Recruit and retain mission-aligned student-athletes.
Manage team logistics: travel, meals, lodging, transportation, and inventory.
Support team compliance, academic retention, fundraising, camps, and community engagement.
Help with internal office responsibilities and event management.
Contribute to branding efforts including social media and marketing.
Promote a disciplined, values-based team culture.
Serve as a spiritual and personal mentor to student-athletes.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Purpose: Graduate Assistant Athletics Communication
The Graduate Assistant – Athletics Communication supports the visibility and branding of NCU Athletics. This position plays a key role in storytelling, statistical reporting, social media content, and multimedia production for multiple sports. The GA will independently manage coverage for assigned teams while contributing to the broader goals of the communication team.
Primary Responsibilities for GA Athletics Communication
Manage and update athletics website: rosters, scores, stories.
Serve as sport contact for assigned programs.
Operate video streaming hardware/software and post-game reporting.
Coordinate game day statistics and media communications.
Assist with photography, videography, and recruit media shoots.
Design graphics for web, print, and social media platforms.
Develop and execute a social media strategy.
Train and supervise student workers as needed.
Promote NCU Athletics to internal and external audiences.
Serve as a mentor to student-athletes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Both Roles):
Bachelor’s degree required.
Acceptance into an NCU graduate program.
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational and multitasking abilities.
Flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.
Athletics Comm GA: Familiarity with stats software, media tools, and creative platforms preferred.
Working Conditions and Frequency (Both Roles):
Working environment involves an urban, Christ-centered university.
Requires travel and evening/weekend availability.
May involve outdoor/indoor events, game days, and summer responsibilities.
Use of standard and specialized athletic or communications equipment.
May require training and certification as needed.
