Tiffin University, a proud NCAA Division II Athletics member in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC), seeks a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Head Track & Field Coach. The Head Coach will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the athletic program, including but not limited to recruiting, coaching, mentoring student-athletes, developing training plans, organizing competitions, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and university policies. This position requires an individual committed to academic excellence, personal development of student-athletes, and contributing to the overall success of Tiffin University Athletics.
The Head Track & Field Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Track & Field program, including (but not limited to) practice and meet preparation, recruiting and retention of student-athletes, hiring and supervision of assistant coaches, budget management, fundraising, scheduling, public relations, community service and strict adherence to all NCAA, GMAC and university rules.
Coaching: • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching program for Track & Field, improving athletes' skills, techniques, and performance. • Plan, organize, and lead practice sessions, workouts, and competitions. • Analyze and assess team and individual performances, develop strategies for improvement, and prepare student-athletes for competitions. • Recruit, develop, and retain student-athletes to meet program goals and expectations. • Foster an inclusive, positive, and motivating environment for student-athletes. • Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and personal development. • Monitor the health and safety of athletes during practice, workouts, and competitions. Required: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred). • Proven experience as a head coach, assistant coach, or relevant coaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably in NCAA Division II. • Strong knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance policies. • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to effectively motivate and mentor student-athletes. • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. • Ability to work effectively with diverse student-athletes, staff, and university personnel. • Commitment to the mission and values of Tiffin University, emphasizing academic success and personal development. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
