Assist the Head Coach with the recruitment, development, and retention of lacrosse players at the College including team management, planning and execution, scheduling, travel, monitoring player academic progress, equipment control, fundraising, and campus, community, and department relations. The Assistant Coach must be knowledgeable and follow NCAA Division III, Ohio Athletic Conference and appropriate governing bodies' policies and procedures regarding intercollegiate athletics.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Understand, support, and embody the team's overarching philosophy as developed by the head coach.
Teach proper lacrosse techniques assigned by the head coach and assess skill development.
Instruct concepts of overall physical health and safety for both individuals and the team.
Educate students on NCAA Division III rules and Marietta College Athletics Department Learning Outcomes.
Recruit future student athletes, using metrics established by the head coach, who understand and are prepared for the demands presented by small, private-college, non-scholarship athletic programs.
Monitor team members' academic progress in consultation with the Academic Resource Center.
Scout opponents and prepare accurate reports.
Promote games to the local community in consultation with Sports Information and Student Life.
Create highlight videos.
Teach a lifetime skill class in the Physical Education department.
Other duties as assigned for administration of the athletic department may include, but not be limited to: game day administration, facility supervision, intramural planning and supervision, sports information assistance, or other.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Willingness to be a team player in the athletic department and role model for athletes.
Current valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check.
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel, take nightly calls, and conduct campus visits. Flexibility to work nights and weekends especially during season.
Required Experience & Education:
One year of coaching experience at the high school level or above or a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an appropriate area of specialization. Intercollegiate playing experience preferred.
Working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules.
Knowledge of recruiting software, scouting software and Microsoft Office products.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires mobility within the campus facilities and various sites including travel to game locations.
Ability to demonstrate skills, maneuvers, and techniques to players.
Occasionally required to move or transport (lift) items weighing up to 25 pounds.
