Emporia State University, a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and NCAA Division II, is seeking to fill a Football Assistant Coach. This position will assist the Football Head Coach in all aspects of the football program. Encompassing all duties assigned by the Head Coach, including but not limited to recruiting, preparing schedules, mentoring, and guiding special teams Student-Athletes in the program. These duties will be performed with the goals of the maintain high performance now and in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and recruit prospective student athletes as future football players. Contact high school / community college coaches, parents, and players themselves to establish and maintain relationships. Responsible for direct communication with recruits, ie. on campus visits, emails, and phone calls to create strong rapport with prospective Student-Athlete. Host all day, on campus visits with student athlete and family; be able to extend scholarship offers. Assist and inform prospective Student-Athlete of next steps to begin mentoring process. Responsible for academic progress for position and any off-field position issues that may arrive. Responsible for helping plan, implement and conduct daily football regimens. Ability to evaluate performance, attitude and teach strategic concepts. Daily on field coaching along with arrange lineups for competition.
Public Relations Duties:
Along with External Relations staff, Assistant Coach will be expected to facilitate and be involved with supporters, boosters, and alumni to establish and maintain a positive moral and excitement high surrounding the program. Identify and contact any of the individuals to help with the program.

Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, MIAA Conference, Institute, and Department of Athletics rules, policies and expectations including commitment to lifelong learning, sportsmanship on and off the field of play, positive leadership and the desire and ability to act as a positive role model and representative of the Institute at all times. ?As a condition of employment, the employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Perform related duties as required.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Health, or a related field, as well as three to five years of collegiate coaching experience.
