This position provides a stipend and graduate tuition waiver each year (except for the
Columbus School of Law and PhD programs). University fees are not included as part of
the tuition waiver.
The Catholic University of America is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications. Catholic University is located in Washington, D.C. and competes in the Landmark Conference. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Communications Office within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Catholic University, the NCAA, and the Landmark Conference.
Duties include:
Primary Sport Coverage - Serve as the main contact for a number of Catholic’s 25 athletic programs. The main contact is responsible for day-to-day communication with the coach and the coverage (stories, social media, etc.) provided to the website and social media platforms. o Sport Responsibility will be determined by level of experience and individual sport knowledge.
Game Day Operations - Statistics, Video Streaming, Broadcast Production, Highlight Filming/Editing, Photography, Graphic Design, Marketing, Social Media, etc. o Prior experience with all aspects is not necessary or expected, but candidates with a versatile skillset will be prioritized.
Student Worker Scheduling/Oversight - The Athletic Communications GA will often find themselves as the point person for staffing and scheduling communication with our student worker staff.
Content Creation - Ideas/Execution - The GA will be expected to provide ideas and help with the execution of content creation for both catholicathletics.com and all social media platforms.

Applicants must be accepted and enrolled in a Graduate Program at the Catholic University of America. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University as well as a valid driver’s license are required. Previous experience as a student worker within an Athletic Communications office is highly preferred. Applicants must be open to working a combination of mornings, nights, and weekends while balancing the work necessary to stay on track within their graduate programs.
