Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the NCAA Compliance Officer in maintaining compliance with NCAA Division II, conference, and university regulations. The Graduate Assistant will assist in monitoring compliance activities and providing administrative support to ensure the athletic department operates within the rules. This role offers valuable experience for individuals pursuing a career in collegiate athletics administration.
Key Responsibilities: Compliance Monitoring and Support •Assist in monitoring compliance activities related to recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, and practice/competition limits. •Conduct regular reviews of recruiting logs, playing/practice seasons, and eligibility documentation. •Ensure accurate and timely entry of compliance-related data into software systems such as Teamworks or Compliance Assistant.
Education and Communication •Help develop and distribute educational materials on NCAA regulations to student-athletes, coaches, and staff. •Assist in organizing compliance meetings and training sessions with athletic department staff, coaches, and student-athletes.
Eligibility and Certification Assistance •Aid in the student-athlete eligibility certification process by gathering required documentation and verifying information. •Work closely with academic and admissions offices to facilitate eligibility tracking and certification processes.
Recruiting Compliance •Monitor recruiting activities to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations, including contacts, evaluations, and visits. •Review and track recruiting logs to confirm they align with NCAA guidelines.
Reporting and Documentation •Assist in preparing compliance reports and maintaining organized records of compliance activities. •Help investigate and report potential rule violations as needed.
Administrative Support •Provide general administrative support to the Compliance Officer, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and updating compliance databases. •Support additional compliance-related projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Eligibility • Must have completed a bachelor’s degree • Cannot be a full-time employee of Missouri Southern State University • Must be enrolled or accepted into a MSSU graduate degree program as a degree-seeking student • Undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or graduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required. • Must maintain enrollment in a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours and a overall 3.0 cumulative graduate GPA.
Experience • Interest in NCAA compliance, sports administration, or related field preferred. • Previous experience in a collegiate athletic environment is a plus.
Skills and Abilities • Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and regulations is highly desirable. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
