The University of Kentucky Athletics department is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic development professional with a proven record of developing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies, creating new relationships with donor prospects and finalizing major gifts. Our Athletics Philanthropy Major Gifts Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit, and encourage philanthropic support for the University of Kentucky Athletics program with an immediate focus on increasing the number of donors and increasing revenues from philanthropy to support the experience of UK student-athletes. The successful candidate assumes a key role in assisting the Department’s leadership with developing ongoing strategic philanthropic messaging efforts within the University of Kentucky’s K Fund department. This position will secure funds for the organization by managing and maintaining a large donor portfolio. Additionally, this position assists in the planning and implementation activities related to lead gifts, major gifts, special gifts, naming opportunities, and potential volunteers.
The preferred candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective time management and organizational skills. The successful candidate must adhere to all UK, SEC & NCAA rules and regulations.
