East Texas Baptist University is seeking qualified applicants for three positions in Athletic Communications as a Graduate Assistant/Post-Graduate Intern (broadcast, social, and creative) beginning in July 2024. This position is an 18- to 24-month commitment, depending on the degree program or whether you choose to pursue an internship. The selected applicant will receive a $1,000 monthly stipend and a 50% tuition waiver for the ETBU graduate program with an option of housing (if available). Former graduate assistants and interns have received positions at NCAA Division I programs (LA Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Wright State, North Dakota) or prestigious NCAA Division III institutions (Trinity University Texas) after their time at ETBU.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT (broadcast/social/SID duties) The selected candidate will help with day-to-day office duties, can help broadcast on the ETBU + Network, help set up and tear down live video equipment, plan and create strategies for the social media team accounts, and some writing duties for www.GoETBUTigers.com, help with statistics and game day workers. This person will also be the contact person for select sports and travel when possible. The selected candidate should also be familiar with CMS website maintenance and have experience working with Adobe Suite applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Audition.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT (broadcast/SID duties) The selected candidate will help with day-to-day office duties and be in charge of broadcasting on the ETBU + Network, setting up the game day streaming equipment, creating weekly broadcasting videos, and helping with a coach's show. This person will also be able to help with the Texas Tigers Podcast. Some writing duties will be included for www.GoETBUTigers.com. This person will also be the contact person for select sports and travel when possible. The selected candidate should also be familiar with CMS website maintenance and have experience working with Adobe Suite applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Audition.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT (creative) The selected candidate will utilize their creative talents to help market the ETBU athletic teams through storytelling. The candidate will create reels, graphics, in-game items, and video features. Possible travel with teams will be required. Former creative graduate assistants are now at NCAA Division I and III schools. Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required and should have a background in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field. You must have strong written and oral communication skills, an understanding of social media, and strong writing skills.
