Position Summary: Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Director of Sports Medicine within the Department of Athletics.
The Director of Sports Medicine is primarily responsible for directing, coordinating and administering a comprehensive sports medicine program, including clinical oversight of the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of Monmouth student-athletes. This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration, working in close collaboration with the University Health Center. In addition, the Director has relationships with Professional Orthopedic Association and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Dhimant Balar.
The candidate would be expected to: provide administration of the Sports Medicine Department; provide athletic training services for all student-athletes; specific team assignments will be based on needs of the department and position); coordination of pre-participation physicals; provide direct supervision to hourly Assistant Athletic Trainers (Interns). This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Other Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Athletics Training, Physical Therapy education or a related field.
Current New Jersey State Athletic Trainer licensure or obtain by date of employment.
NATABOC certified.
Must be able to travel, work weekends and in all types of weather.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Experience with a Division I Football Championship Series (FCS) or Football Bowl Series (FBS) program. Higher education administrative experience. Division I or I-AA athletics administrative experience. Leadership experience in sports medicine, drug education and peer leadership.
