Alvernia University, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Head Men's & Women's Volleyball Coach.
The Head Men’s & Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for providing ethical leadership in managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Men’s & Women’s Volleyball program including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes and preparing student-athletes for success through practice planning, strategy development, and skill instruction. Men’s Volleyball will begin play in Spring 2027.
The Head Coach will be responsible for tracking their student-athlete’s academic progress, maintaining appropriate records and paperwork, and ensuring compliance with all university, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.
A Bachelor’s degree and successful experience as a student-athlete and/or coach is required. Master’s degree and college head coaching experience is desired.
The successful candidate will display a record of accomplishment “on the field” as well as “off the field” having served as a mentor and coach to successful student-athletes, and will have experience in planning, organizing, and hosting track meets and special events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate and be able to communicate a commitment to the mission and core values and goals of Alvernia University. Strong organizational, supervisory, and team-building capabilities are required.

Reading, Pennsylvania is situated between the scenic Blue and South Mountains in southeastern Pennsylvania.
