McKendree University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant for the University Athletics Sports Information Department on its Lebanon, Illinois campus for the 2025-2026 academic year. The University is a member of the NCAA II Great Lakes Valley Conference. Tuition discount and stipend are included.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: coverage of assigned sports to include general publicity, website maintenance, producing game day programs, social media maintenance (including pre- and post-game graphics, special award/honor graphics, countdowns, etc.), keeping in-game statistics and archiving/maintaining historical records of assigned teams. Candidate will gain a working knowledge of our live video stream of home contests assist in set-up their assigned sports. The candidate will also help with set-up of larger home athletic events and assist in game-day operations of those sports as needed. Supervision and assignment of work-study students for game-day duties will also be included.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and acceptance into a master’s program at McKendree University is required. Ability and flexibility to work nights and weekends with some travel. Preferred Requirements: Proficient writing skills, experience with using Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office, StatCrew, The Automated Scorebook and video editing software programs, and experience in working with CMS websites. Photography experience is a plus.
