Major Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the senior management team to discuss and decide issues related to the overall management of the college.
Provide leadership and vision for the athletic department, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and strategic goals.
Recruit and manage coaches and departmental staff.
Coordinate athletic events and schedules.
Develop, implement, and manage fundraising efforts for the athletic department.
Oversee the financial resources and budget allocated to athletics.
Work closely with the Office of External Relations in coordinating fundraising and public relations activities.
Assure compliance with NCAA and conference regulations, working in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Student Athlete Services, and Sport Administration and the Faculty Athletic Representative.
Develop a plan with each head coach to promote and support the academic success of student-athletes.
Serve as the liaison for athletic booster organizations and supporters to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Collaborates with other offices and departments in student athlete recruitment and retention efforts and student success initiatives.
Represent the athletic department as well as the institution on the President's Cabinet, at college events, and to the community.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in sports management or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
At least five years of previous experience in college athletic administration and fundraising. Previous experience coaching at the college level is preferred.
Successful experience managing athletic positions. Previous experience as an athletic director is preferred.
A strong working knowledge of and high degree of familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

This position is an exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. The anticipated wage range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000.
As Kentucky Wesleyan is a not-for-profit institution, employees may be eligible for loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program of the US Department of Education.
