The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) is dedicated to helping athletes achieve their full potential through high-quality volleyball programs while fostering athletic and personal growth. As a forward-thinking organization, NVVA is committed to providing exceptional experiences for athletes and their families, driven by a culture of innovation, teamwork, and passion for youth sports. We seek a dynamic, passionate, and entrepreneurial-minded leader who may not yet have all the experience but has the drive and capacity to learn, grow, and thrive with us. If you’ve balanced challenges like excelling in sports while pursuing academics, moved to a new country and adapted, or overcome significant obstacles in life, we want to hear from you.
As the Director of Volleyball Programs, you will oversee the development and delivery of all volleyball-related programs at NVVA, driving excellence in operations, coaching, and customer service. This role is not just about what you’ve done—it’s about what you’re ready to achieve. You’ll work closely with the CEO to implement NVVA’s strategic vision while bringing fresh ideas and an entrepreneurial mindset. We’re looking for someone eager to learn and adapt—ready to embrace challenges and take ownership of their role.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management: Lead the planning and execution of volleyball programs, including leagues, camps, clinics, and events. Continuously evaluate and improve program offerings to meet the needs of our athletes and families.
Operations Oversight: Partner with the Facility Manager to ensure seamless facility operations, including scheduling, logistics, and safety. Learn and adapt quickly to new processes and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Coaching Development: Collaborate with Volleyball Managers and Master Coaches to recruit, train, and mentor coaching staff. Embrace NVVA’s coaching philosophy and bring fresh ideas to inspire and develop our coaches.
Customer Service Excellence: Work with the Customer Service Team to elevate athlete and family experiences. Be proactive in addressing concerns and implementing solutions to enhance satisfaction.
Budget Management: Gain skills in overseeing program budgets, tracking income and expenses, and making financially sound decisions that align with NVVA’s goals.
Strategic Leadership: Represent NVVA’s values and culture in the gym, events, and community. Partner with the CEO to execute long-term strategies for organizational growth.
Innovation and Growth: Explore opportunities for new programs, tools, and practices. Stay curious, research industry trends, and propose creative ideas to keep NVVA at the forefront of youth sports.
What We’re Looking For You might not check every box, and that’s okay! We’re seeking candidates who:

Possess strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to inspire others.
Have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for problem-solving.
Demonstrate adaptability and curiosity, especially when learning new technologies and processes.
Understand the value of teamwork and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Share a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for athletes and families.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, or a related field is a plus, but a strong drive to learn and grow is essential.
Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. Comfortable learning and using tools like CRM platforms, budgeting software, and scheduling systems.
Cultural Fit: A growth mindset, passion for youth sports, and alignment with NVVA’s mission and values.
