The Head Coach - Women's Soccer is expected to exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of the position. The responsibilities of the head coach will include, but are not limited to the following:
- In charge of the day-to-day operations that includes planning, supervision, and coordination of all aspects of administering and coaching a Division I women’s varsity soccer intercollegiate program.
- Adherence to NCAA, Loyola University, and A10 rules and regulations and promoting a culture of compliance.
- Provide leadership and coordinate practice planning sessions using current and innovative techniques and strategies that will improve the ability and skills of the student-athletes as individuals and as a team.
- Provide leadership for and preparing competition strategies for individual games.
- Develop a competitive schedule.
- Create and implement recruitment and retention plans of student-athletes consistent with the mission of the university.
- Budget development and fiscal management
- Oversee creation and distribution of team/alumni fund raising mailings/ events, public relations and other related assignments; fully participate in fund-raising events.
- Select, appoint, direct, supervise and evaluate the assistant coaches
- Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and one to three years previous coaching experience. Must have working knowledge of NCAA and Atlantic 10 Conference rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCAA or Professional coaching experience required; Head coaching experience and master’s degree preferred. -Proven high level of competency in soccer skill instruction and motivation. -An understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment; strong teaching and coaching skills with demonstrated ability to lead and develop student-athletes athletically, scholastically, and individually consistent with the higher education values of the university. -Strong recruiting track record as demonstrated by player recognition/awards. -Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, with the proven ability to communicate constructively with student-athletes. -Efficient in budgetary matters; knowledge and experience in managing fundraising activities. - Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and alumni.
