Responsibilities
Plans and organizes the details of the team including skill teaching and development, practice organization, coaching, and player selection.
Evaluates individual performance and provides leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.
Implements team discipline, decision-making, and independent judgment.
Directs the work of student workers and volunteer assistant coaches.
Complies with institutional, Midwest Conference, University Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Serves on professional departmental committees.
Represents the University of Chicago in professional, alumni, and civic functions.
Performs recruitment of student-athletes.
Performs initial and ongoing assessments of students’ academic abilities and rates achievements. Monitors and documents students’ progress, participation, and attendance in class.
Works independently and guides the work of groups of students and/or teachers throughout the academic year. Interprets issues and provides expert consultation, training, and/or professional advising.
Participates in staff meetings and a range of social and academic program events.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
Master's degree.
Experience:
Significant and relevant playing or teaching/coaching experience in football at the professional, collegiate, or high school level.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Proficient in computer skills.
Microsoft Office and other software.
Familiarity with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy.
Preferred Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and handle multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.
