The primary duties of the Assistant Athletics Director, Business Operations include:
Business Office operations
Manage athletics team budgets and support services budgets Execute all financial matters related to accounts payable, financial processing/invoicing, procurement services, vendor contracts, risk management, annual employee taxation processes and postseason Serve as department oversight of Anthony Travel representative on site; main point of contact on Charter flights procurement Manage financial reconciliations with third party vendors where necessary.
Budget
Assist with annual operating budgets in collaboration with Associate AD, Business Operations, Deputy AD/COO/CFO, department heads and coaches for submission Troubleshoot problems and resolves errors throughout the budgeting process Provide information to Budget Office staff in the annual review and management of positions and operations budgets Assist with preparation of EADA/NCAA AUP reports Assist with capital projects financial tracking.
Data Analysis
Provide complex analytical support and financial management expertise Prepare financial reports for Associate AD, Business Operations and Deputy AD/COO/CFO.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people Ability and desire to perform accurate, detail-oriented work, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to maintain professionalism and poise in all circumstances and effectively interact with people in a positive manner Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Strong decision-making skills and initiative Possess excellent time management skills Working effectively with a broad range of constituencies including students, coaches, staff, faculty, university administrators Maintain effective attention to detail, meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, and prioritizing competing demands, and accuracy in one’s work Possess skills to deal with sensitive or difficult situations effectively Possess the clear ability to maintain confidentiality Demonstrated ability to respond to rapid change and utilization of new technologies.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.
Experience:
At least five years of experience in a financial discipline
Nine years of relevant/finance experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Licensure:
May hold CPA or other advanced financial certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in related field
At least seven years of experience in a financial discipline.
Experience:
Supervisory experience
Solid understanding and knowledge of NCAA-related policies and financial reporting
Experience with Workday for budget and fiscal management
Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing, and executing complex budgets and long-range business/fiscal management plans
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office software
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications.
